OK Machu Pichu

Lama

Thats not photo shoped haha

Up by one of the whach towers

This inthe sun dial tempal
It's what the Inkamen used to find out the time of year and when to plant and harvest their crops.
This is no longer allowd to be touched because in 1997 There was a beer commercial being made around it and one of the camera crains fell over and chipped an edge off.

We got their so early that there was nearly no one their ...untill the bus tours of chinese people came.

This is the Condor. It is believed that human sacrifices were made to the mother earth In this place. It was always young nobals who were sacrificed here so the Condor could drink their blood.
The Earth was The Inkas god untill the spanish converted them. They have also found remains of sacrifices neer rivers volcanos on top of mountains ect. When any natural disaster happened it was due to the earth beeing angry and hungry. She needed to be fed as well. So in those places of disaster they would feed her.

It took them 1 week to carve one stone. All the houses were shaped like a trapizoid so they would be stronger also smaller rocks were at the base of the houses then the larger. Incase of earthquakes, the small rocks would shift but the large ones would stay in place. The biggest earth quake in 1978 collapsed the chirches in Cusco and they had to be rebuilt. Nothing on Machu Pichu collapsed.

We got up this morning at 4 o clock. It was raining so everyone dressed in their rain gear and head lamps. Ready for the morning treck. We were thinking that it wasn't going to be so bad. But it was the most gruling hike yet. Strait up Machu Pichu for an hour and a half , step after step in the pooring rain in the pich black. It was nice to hear the happy Frenchmen singing the first bit. I can assure you the singing didn't last long haha. We got to the top befor any busses which was rewarding. The rain stopped around 7 and the day was beautiful. The tour guid said we were really lucky because in the rainy season Mach Pichu is almost always in fog or rain. We had picknick and glad we did because The cheepest meal was 30 soles and that was for a berger and coke. We had a 2 hour Tour which was very interesing and I wish it was a little longer, but we had time to explore after and then walk down the mountain to catch the train back to Cusco. It's now 1 am and I'm off to bed. Thats all untill next time.
